Melissa Bowen
Melissa began pursuing acting through musical theatre in Fall 2019. During quarantine, she discovered a love for acting through zoom table reads and was able to learn through online classes and voice over work. In spring of 2022, she started both local stage acting and commercial film work. She has joined into a handful of plays, musical theatre and dance productions around the Louisville area since then, and in April 2023 worked as a lead in her first feature film. Her background stems from the dance world, having trained as a dancer the majority of her life and holding a BA in dance from APSU. She is a certified ballet instructor with American Ballet Theatre, and a professional company member of AMBO Dance Theatre in Louisville, KY. Outside of performing, she has experience in prop building, costume fabrication, makeup and design, sound and video editing, writing, and script editing.
